I believe...

On Wednesday I wrote a post about Mike Sansone and Starbucker’s “Crash Davis Belief Statements”. It's obvious that people are having some fun with this. Mary Schmidt added to the conversation, and Anonymous Cog added his two-cents in a comment. I promised to add mine to the list, so here we go:

I believe that the universe is a work of God’s artistry - embellished by Van Gogh’s brush, Miles Davis’ trumpet, Bob Dylan’s lyrics, Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, Tolkein’s imagination and Michael Jordan’s jump shot. I believe in hot coffee, Gregorian chants and quiet conversations with God before dawn. I believe in baseball parks on warm summer evenings. I believe in good food, good wine, good company and dinner conversations that keep you at the table for hours. I believe in guitars, cigars and back porch music under the stars. I believe that life is a journey with an eternal destination and in having good companions for the sojourn. I believe that the Cubs will one day win the World Series and the Vikings will one day be Super Bowl champs. I believe grace is costly and salvation is free. I believe in the blues. I believe in second chances, my wife’s love, and the reality that my children are my life’s masterpiece.

Who's next? It’s a great creative exercise.

Have a great weekend!

Outstanding, Tom. Worth the wait.

Well done Tom - that's more than stepping up to the plate; you smacked a home run, aside from still believing the Cubs would ever win the series :-) ! I hope I get to enjoy one of those dinner conversations with you some time soon. All the best!

Wow - I like this! Where do you guys get so many ideas for fun and inspiration. Ok... now I am challenged! Thanks for the incentive to think about the "I believe piece!" get's to the heart, soul and mind of life!

Hmmm...are belief statements becoming viral? Who let the monkeys out? ;-)

But, seriously, methinks if more people shared their beliefs, accepting we don't all have the same ones (and shouldn't be expected to) - we'd have a whole lot less trouble in this world.
